Well warm weather has finally allowed us to get back out to the forest this week, and despite the fact that the forest is still under about 3 inches of ice the deconstruction process is well underway. I can’t remember ever having to skate around the place nearing the end of March; but I have to admit that it has been funny watching everyone fall on their ass while working. I’m pretty sure I have bruises on mine.
Over the last couple years we have been slowly phasing out the pallet walls/black plastic and replacing them with real wall panels as our budget allows. I’m happy to say that the process will finally be mostly complete this year. My team is currently gutting the forest of pallets/plastic, and will begin putting up walls as soon as the forest thaws. We’re hoping to have that complete by the end of March or early April. Meanwhile Ian has been hard at work with a small team getting the technical side of the forest wired up and ready to begin tackling the massive technological needs we have this year. Josh has another small team getting some new special building completed before he begins work on one of the biggest additions to the forest this year.
The photoblog will return again this year, hopefully soon. With so very much to do, taking pictures of the progress is always an afterthought. There’s really not much to look at now anyway except ice and lumbar.
As always we need help. We’re looking for actors, artists, scene designers and builders; pretty much anyone that’s at least 16 years old and has a pulse (or at least had one at one time). For more information on helping please visit http://www.frightmareforest.com/skeery/volunteer/joinForm
We are working with a number of local bands to create a custom sound track for the 2008 season; all bands will receive plugs in our newsletters. We are still looking for more so if you’re in the CR area, and can at least sing a couple scales, contact us! (for more info visit: http://www.frightmareforest.com/skeery/localBands/boo) We’d like to thank- and encourage you to support- the following bands:

Ah there’s still so much more that I’m dying to share, but tragically I cannot just yet. This is going to be an extremely busy spring and summer for us. There will be more announcements and special treats coming in the near future.
