I just realized there's less than 1.5 months left until we open. I have no idea where this summer went. While many of our staff have been dealing with- or helping with- the flood efforts, there's been quite a few die-hards that have been working non-stop at the forest (literally living out there in a couple cases).
I know things have been more quiet on the site this year than they have ever been, and we've even gotten some concerned emails from people worried that we may not open this year. I assure you that we are. Things have just been out of control this summer and we have simply been extremely busy at the haunt. And, frankly, I'm tired of all the talk and hype of previous years. There's only so many times you can say "this is our best show ever" before it gets old. Our show this year is something that must be experienced, not read about. The photoblog is returning this year, and that may give some insight on what we've been working on...
This year our need for volunteers is larger than it has ever been. We're looking to double our cast: a volunteer base of 60+ people will be required to make the show what we really want this year. If you are 16+ years old and you are looking for something to do, meet some amazing people, or expand some acting/artistic skills, we strongly encourage you to come on out. Simply go to our cast page and fill out our Volunteer Form and we will contact you with more information. We strongly believe that acting is a skill that can be taught so even if you don't feel that you have any acting talent we offer many workshops and will work with you to develop those skills, and will find a perfect place for you.
We will hold acting auditions this year on the following dates and times:
Friday September 5th: 6:00pm-8:00pm
Saturday September 6th: 1:00pm-6:00pm
Friday September 19th: 6:00pm-8:00pm
Saturday September 20th 1:00pm-6:00pm
Our annual Haunt Actors Workshop is September 12-14 this year, it's recommended that all staff attend these workshops so please let us know you will be attending so that you get an invite.
